Are you a writer? An artist?
Someone with a dedicated spiritual practice?
Would you treasure time away in a secluded cabin in the woods?
Do you love silence, solitude, the sigh of wind in tall pines and the sight of deer grazing outside your window?
Come to stay at the Hermitage, a beautiful, light-filled retreat cabin, with high ceilings and many windows. It is hand-built from local wood, a perfect space for a personal retreat.
The Hermitage is located in its own small canyon where you are likely to hear and see only the wind in the trees, birds and frogs and the occasional deer. Consisting of one large room, a bed nook, and bathroom with shower, the 300-square foot cabin includes a twin bed, propane stove and oven, small refrigerator, wood stove for heat, and electricity. Many guests have successfully used mobile phone-based hot-spots for email and light Internet use. In dry weather, you can drive a car all the way to the Hermitage – in wet weather, you will need four-wheel drive or the ability to walk about 600 feet up a hill. We provide towels, linens, and firewood. The Hermitage is available from March 15 through November 15.
In spring, listen as the air fills with migrating bird song.
In summer, swim in the clear waters of the wild and scenic Yuba River.
In fall, hike though the hills as maple, oak and dogwood trees turn color, and breezes turn cool.
Come, be inspired by the beauty of the world.
